How well does the raise to view (turn on) feature work with it on the inside of your wrist?

Personally, I'm more likely to bang my watch on things with the watch on the inside of the wrist. Especially when typing or working with my hands. At least that was my experience when I wore a normal watch way-back-when. I haven't tried it with the Apple Watch.

I turned off the raise to view, as I found it extremely distracting. I prefer to control, rather than being controlled by a flickering light. The AW vibration is sufficient for me.

I have not had an issue with typing while my AW face is on the inside of the wrist. In some instances, it's easy enough to flip it around the other way. There are instances that it has annoyed my wife when coming into contact.

I find viewing the AW face on the inside of the wrist as a more natural extension of my eyesight.
