Like it did on Thanksgiving, Apple today has begun notifying Apple Watch owners of a soon-to-launch Activity challenge, hoping to encourage users to get moving and work out in the new year. To earn the achievement, Apple Watch owners will have to close all three Activity rings each day for an entire week in January.

The challenge should become visible for all Apple Watch wearers within the Activity app at midnight local time on December 28. Similar to the Thanksgiving Achievement, if users complete the new challenge they'll gain access to "special stickers" in iMessages.

This is what the award looks like after you achieve it.

Ok, full week on daily workouts, completed all rings for 7d and ... nothing, not even the perfect week (individual and for all 3 rings) nor the special badge. My wife got it. I switched to my new Nike watch while she still uses her 1st gen watch. I was running daily using the NRC app. All workouts logged properly and the activity app shows all rings complete for the full week. Ideas?

Try restarting your Watch, it may help. Also, a few times the activity awards on my Apple Watch stopped updating for a few days, then, all of a sudden, caught up and proceeded normally from then on.

When you look at the Achievments tab on the iPhone's Activity app, do you see the badge? It should appear grayed out at the top of the list. If it's not there, then you probably can't achieve it.

Yes I do, in gray. However, I should also have gotten the individual perfect week badges - which I did not. All indicators that the greater force in my phone deciding if I did good ignores me

They won't reply, but it's important to let them know about your problem. And maybe they can help.

If you haven't restarted or reset your iPhone lately, give it a try. I notice you've already done so for the Apple Watch, but since most of the real work happens on the iPhone, you should try it as well.

I tired to reset the phone as well but no response from the greater force so far. Also sent a feedback to apple. Doing a google reveals this is a known issue for many users.

Ah. Well hopefuly Apple will fix it soon.

Just in case it applies; if you purchased you Apple Watch or iPhone within the last 90 days you should have free tech support. I you got Applecare for either you should have it for 2 years.

Edit: Typo was an order of magnitude off. 20 to 2.

Yesterday I had a rest day. Did not close any of the rings. At midnight it rained badges ... no need to understand I guess.
