Please can we have an off switch for the SOS emergency slider when you go to turn off the watch? I have two occasions recently where emergency services have been called in error as I was trying to turn my watch off. Very embarrassing and should be able to disable it. Thank you

On the iPhone, go to the Watch app. In the My Phone tab you’ll find Emergency SOS. It can be turned off there.

Yes I know about that but for some reason it doesn't turn off the slider on the watch face where you actually turn the watch off. I think the one you are talking about is for the button on the side. Thanks for the reply.

Oh. I see what you mean. No, I don’t know of any way to turn that off.

I’m in the habit of forcing a restart instead of powering off, so I seldom see the sliders.

You can force a restart by holding down both the crown and side button until the Apple logo appears. It’s a more complete restart than powering on/off.

Apple only recommend this if you can’t power off the watch by normal means, but I’ve never heard of it doing harm.

Oh I hadn't thought of doing that. I'll give that a try. Maybe Apple will put something to correct this in an update soon!! Thanks for your help. Paula.
