Apple announced today that watchOS 3 will be released on September 13, three days before the Apple Watch series2.
I look forward to the new features. What I'd like too, would be pairing one Apple Watch to more than one iPhone. That would be nice.
During the keynote they have shown a feature where the activity app tracks the actual run path and provides much more metric. Is this feature Series 2 only or does it work with 1st gen as well if I carry my phone? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
It works on the Series 2 Apple Watch which has built in GPS. The demo was from a pre-production Series 2 Apple Watch.
Our WiFi at work sucks. I keep losing it. I wish Apple would get away from the WiFi to download, or at least give me an option to use my Cellular connection for updates. 7 Minutes Left, if I don't lose the WiFi signal again.
The longest part isn't the internet download, which is quite small, and done by the iPhone. It's the download from the iPhone to the watch that takes forever, then the actual install when it's on the watch. I plugged in both devices, made sure I'd hit all the agrees and authentications, and went to bed. This will probably be my 'recomended' low-frustration method from now on.
Well, after 4 hours trying to keep the WiFi connected, I was finally able ot download the stupid update. Then another hour of the watch updating, but I'm finally on Watch 3.0!!!!
I'm sure you'll find al that effort will be worth it. The new features of watchOS 3 make it seem like you have a whole new watch.
I'm really starting to like the Dock. Many of the apps I never bothered to use, becaue they took too long, are now quite useful; often without bothering to fully open the app. My second favorite things is the abilty to switch between watch faces with a swipe. I have one modular face set up with nothing but world clock widgets. One quick swipe and I can check the time in 6 time zones (including mine). Note: You can re-arraign the order of your watch faces using the iPhone app.
watchOS 3.1 Beta Was released this morning. There will almost certainly not be a public beta as was also the case with previous beta versions of watchOS.
Works with my original watch as well. Just no idea how to share the GPS records with Strava Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
