Hi everyone, I am an apple.net user and was told about this sister forum by another member. I have the other Apple gadgets and would very much like the Apple Watch. I hope to learn about my future gadget here.

Have you tried out the demo models at an Apple Store. You'll get a good feel of how different apps work on the Apple Watch. You can also try on the different models and see which model and strap or bracelet style is right for you.

Yes I would love to do that scifan57 but there is a serious lack of Apple stores here. I will have to find somewhere else to try it on before I actually buy it...lol

You all know me from iPhone/iPad/Apple forums.
Haven't taken the plunge yet though.

You will, eventually. At this point , you may want to wait and see what the second generation Apple Watch offers before deciding one way or another.

Hey, I found the site over the internet. I bought my first watch recently and I've been using it for some situations but I was wondering if you guys could share whatelse you use your watch for. So far I've been using it extensively for Health (it's amazing for that), I do reply a few iMessage texts via dictation (that works well even here in Brazil), the face with all the data including calendar, battery life, day, hour is amazing. Apart from that I haven't found any more apps that could make me wanna use my watch even more and feel like another reason why I should wear it. Don't get me wrong, love the watch and everything it does, just wanted to explore it more and have some more features I could use it with.

Feel free to share everything you guys think it's better or even pretty good with the watch, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks again and glad to be in the forum.

Welcome to Apple Watch Forums, @arirando! Our members can help you with any questions or problems you may have.
I've used my Apple Watch for sports tickets, Apple Pay, and even airline boarding passes. You can also use it as a remote viewfinder and shutter button for your iPhone camera and to reply to and make phone calls, relayed through the iPhone.

Great, thanks @scifan57 !! Really like the watch and I want to find more uses for it. It's always great not having to take my phone out of my pocket, so that's the idea.
    Thanks again for sharing!

You're welcome. The more you use your Apple Watch, the more different uses you'll discover.

I don't use a lot of thrid party watch apps, but here are a couple I kind of use.

Fantastacal: I like it better than the native Calendar app, and since it has a watch app I use that also.

Carrot Weather: It's an ammusingly sassy weather app, but that wears off fairly soon. The main reason I use it is that you can customize the watch complication. I have the complicaton set to show the chance of rain. Alongside the built in weather app's complication showing temprature, I get a little more weather info without having to use up the large center complicatoin on the Modular face (which I usually reserve for the date).

Tile: It's the companion app for the Bluetooth trackers I have on my keys, wallet, and iPad bag. I keep this app in the watch's dock. I have no idea if it is actully useable. I've always pulled out the phone instead when searching for my misplaced items. Or used the key tile to find the phone. It works both ways.

Health Face: This app lets you make custom complications from your Health app data. I've used it to make a watch face that shows my low, average, high, and last heart rate readings from the watch. I switch to this face every now and then, just because I can, and I think it is cool.

One Drop: This is a good tracking app for diabetics. You're seeing its complication botom left on the above watch face. I prefer using the phone's app, but you can quickly enter glucose, carbs, exercise, and medication events from the watch.

Other than I mostly create watch faces for specific activities; mostly Modular faces, because I prefer informationd density over asthetics. The face I use most is time, date, and weather heavy. Then there is the heart face (show above), a music listening face where the big widget shows current song and artist, and an X-Large face with the timer widget for those critical countdowns.

I used to have a face that showed time in four different cities, alongside the local time, but lost it when upgrading the watch to watchOS 3. I've never bothered to re-create it; though it's not that hard. Every time zone you set up in the Clock app gets it's own complication on the watch.

I also use my Apple Watch as my alarm clock in Nightstand Mode. I find it's wake up alarm is one of the few sounds that both wakes me up, and doesn't make me want to smash whatever is making that awful sound. :)
