Whatsapp does not appear in the apps list on the iphone apple watch app, so it can't be installed on the watch. I've even reset, unpaired and again paired the watch with my iphone and nothing. Again, eventhough I have whatsapp installed and working normally on my iphone, it doesn't appear on the "app list" of the apple watch app on the phone, hence nothing can be done with whatsapp regarding the watch.

You should find WhatsApp in the Watch app, in My Watch - Notifications. In Mirror Alerts From, the app should be listed. There you can enable it, so you get notifications when you receive a message on your iPhone.

I receive notifications on my Apple Watch from several apps that do not have an Apple Watch companion app.

Thanks for your replies. However, the problem is Whatsapp does not appear in the "mirror iphone alerts from...", so I cannot enable it.

Open the app on your iPhone, then take another look at the Watch app.

I permanently use Whatsapp. It is always open. Nevertheless, I tried opening it and immediately going to the watch app. Same thing. It doesn't show! Please help!

As I said, I already tried unpairing and beginning from scratch. By the way, now I have "automatic app install" enabled in general settings. First, I didn't have it enabled and somebody told to me it could be that, so I tried it, to no avail!

To the watch app, it is just as if my phone didn't have whatsapp installed.

Make sure you have notifications turned on for the iPhone in Settings > Notifications > WhatsApp.

I installed the app to check things out. When I first opened the app it asked me to allow notifications, and I said no. The Mirror iPhone option did not turn up in the iPhone's Watch app. When I went to Settings > Notifications and turned on notifications for WhatsApp then rechecked the Watch app, the option was there.

If that does not work, I recommend deleting and reinstalling WhatsApp. You'll probalby lose your message history if you do, so keep that in mind.

Note: I don't use WhatsApp myself (did not even finished authenticating my phone number before deleting it), so my recommendation is based on a cheap 5 minutes of investigation. Take it for what it's worth.

    Good luck.

The message history can be backed up, and restored again after reinstalling the app, so nothing will be lost. You have to backup in WhatsApp itself. It's in the app's settings.

IT WORKED! THANKS VERY MUCH! That was it! I had notifications enabled, but not to show on the lock screen. Only because of that, it didn't work. Now it does. Thanks a lot!!!

There’s s third party Apple watch app called WatchChat that does enable use to use WhatsApp on your watch. Works very well. You can even use group chats as well. Hope this helps.
