I went for a walk today with my watch and set it for outdoor walk. I walked for 30 minutes according to the exercise data but my watch is only showing 12 exercise minutes. Anyone know why? IMG_0177.jpg IMG_0176.jpg

Is there something you're doing quite energetically while working?

I've heard that the Activity app is learning from your daily chores. So if you have an activity where you're moving the arm with the watch more than usual, you'll have to be more "active" when you take a walk: walk faster, or do something in addition to walking, so that the app notices that this is more challenging, and you'll get your exercise minutes.

I have noticed that it does not record it as exercise minutes unless I reach a certain pace. The colors on the completed route map shows a color change between exercise minutes and non exercise pace

On this map the green portions of the route count as excercise, the Amber as regular walking, and the red as being stopped.

I think you have to walk at " a vigorous pace" - I have found this , I walked for 2.5 miles today but a lot of it was ambling- think you have to more than 3 mph for it to register as exercise
