There is now an active calorie count and total

    Is this new. what do the two mean. One all other calories and one active??????

    Ones the number when your moving. The other is when your not. Simples! At least that's my take on it.

    My understanding, and it's mostly a guess, is that the Active calories are the extra the one you burn because you're exercising. The Total are those, plus the ones you burn just because you're alive and awake.

    Of course both are just estimates based on the info you've given the Health app (weight, height, age, etc), and what the sensors gather (your heart rate, distance covered, steps, etc.)

    Though jam5971's explanation is also possible. I'd have to do some testing to figure it out.

    I haven't seen an official (or even well sourced) explanation yet.
